Karl’s Bassin’ Adventures Guide Service has been a long now achieved dream of mine, (Captain Karl Bunch). As a young boy I grew up in Suffolk, VA. My Grandfather and Uncle were avid & well respected fishermen of the Suffolk Lakes. I was fortunate that they were willing and patient enough to take the time to teach me how to fish and understand and appreciate the importance of our valuable waters & natural resources. I will always remember the excitement and joy of catching those bream & sunfish on old fashioned (not the modern day) cane poles with a bobber and live cricket’s for bait, and the fish stories that I could not wait to get home to tell my Grandmother. By the time I became a young teenager my Mom had remarried and my stepfather had been a merchant marine in his younger years. He taught me the rules of navigation and to respect and navigate the bigger open waters of the Albemarle Sound & Chesapeake Bay. By the time that I became a young adult I realized that my passion was fishing for largemouth & smallmouth bass. But I still enjoy, and the memories of excitement come to my mind every time I am blessed with a nice sunfish or perch on my hook. Please remember to take a little of your time to help a young person or adult experience & enjoy our great sport of fishing, you may not realize the positive impact that you are making at the time, but you could be helping another person to appreciate and enjoy the great sport of fishing for many years to come.
